Will my insurance cover the cost of a dizziness and balance evaluation?
Yes, most insurance does cover the cost of dizziness and balance evaluation because it is a medical necessity. We work with your physician to receive the proper order for the testing procedures prior to your evaluation in the office.
Is there any preparation before a dizziness and balance evaluation?
Yes, you will be mailed instructions regarding preparations before your evaluation at the office. Basically, you will need to eat a light breakfast the morning of the test and refrain from alcoholic beverages and some medications for 48 hours prior to your visit.
How long will a tinnitus evaluation take?
The tinnitus evaluation takes approximately 2 hours. It begins with a review of your Tinnitus Handicap Questionnaire and Tinnitus Reaction Questionnaire.
Do I need to schedule an appointment for a hearing aid problem?
Although most hearing aid problems can be handled in the office without an appointment, it is recommended that you call first so that the staff can best assess your needs.
Do you provide on-site hearing aid repairs?
Yes, simple repairs are provided in-house for a nominal fee. Should your hearing aid require a manufacturer repair, we can provide a loaner hearing aid for you at no cost.
Do you sell assistive devices such as “TV Ears” and amplified telephones?
Yes, we carry the most common devices in the office and we can order many products for you. Please stop in the office for a demonstration of “TV Ears” or to pick up a free catalogue. Please look at our “Services/Products” page for more information.
Do you make custom earplugs?
Yes, we take ear impressions to order a variety of custom earplugs. Please look at our “Services/Products” page for more information.
How long will a dizziness and balance evaluation take?
The evaluation takes approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours, depending on which tests are performed, as your symptoms require.
How long will the appointment take to test my child?
Most appointments with children take 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the cooperation level of the child.
Will the testing hurt my child?
No, hearing evaluation is a painless, pleasant procedure, completed in a friendly environment to put the child at ease.
How long will I have to wait to get my child’s test results?
For most children, the audiologist will be able to discuss the test results with you during the visit, including any recommendations for treatment or further testing required.
Does my health insurance pay for hearing aids?
Medicare does not cover hearing aids, however other insurance plans may. Please check with your individual policy.
How long can I try the hearing aids?
A 45-day evaluation period is included with a new hearing aid purchase. You will be scheduled to return to the office in 2-week intervals to review your progress.
Do you offer payment plans on hearing aids?
Hearing aids can be paid for in a variety of ways, including but not limited to discounts with cash, all major credit cards, and no-interest and low-interest payment plans.
Is there a charge for the hearing test?
We are a Medicare-approved facility, and therefore, must charge for all hearing tests. As a “specialist”, we are required to obtain an “order” from your primary physician. We will be happy to obtain that order for you.
